< Return to previous page                                             the applications   Tyrannosaurus Rex (Tyrant Lizard King) The Tyrannosaurus could well be the most famous dinosaur that ever existed, it was certainly one of the biggest meat-eaters and probably the most feared. It was up to 14 metres long and 6 metres high. The T-rex, as it's better known, lived at a time known as the Cretaceous Period, this period of time started from around 144 million years ago, and lasted for a period of around 80 million years.   Habitat Information On entering the environment you will be in a clearing leading from a forest edge. Around you, you will be able to see the kind of plant life that existed at this time. By pressing certain keys on your keyboard you may access data on all plant life and creatures that you may encounter. You can wander around freely exploring the environment trying to find where the creatures are. The T-rex is in a clearing by a riverbed, but be careful as he is eating some recently killed prey. The smell of the recent kill attracts another hungry T-rex who is soon on the scene, this causes an aggressive confrontation between the two only to end with the victor winning the food and the loser having to go hungry.
