  SEPT 2 Hardware.
SEPT 2 delivers an unrivalled simulated training experience, it does this not only through its realistic visual
qualities but also through the use of state of the art hardware. The system utilises a 3m high 150 degree FOV
wrap around screen, the student stands in the centre and is completely immersed in the simulated environment.

  .

The visuals are delivered to the screen by way of 3 overhead projectors each with a resolution of 1440 x 1050
pixels. Each projected image sent to the screen is geometry corrected and edge blended so the result is a
seamless image mapped perfectly to the screen.

The hardware delivering the visuals to the projectors is made up of 5 accelerated pc systems. One
master controller pc, 3 slave rendering systems, and one UTM pc - utilises 3DP hardware for calculating the
geometry and image blending for projecting on to curved screens.

True 3D positional sound is delivered to the 5.1 surround sound system. Speakers positioned at key points
around the room aid the trainee in awareness of potential hazards from all around the dispersal before actually
 seeing them.

The Instructor Control Facility (ICF) was ergonomically designed around the operators duties during a typical
training day. The system comprises of one 19" LCD TFT used for a plan view of the dispersal, one 19" LCD
touch screen used as the operators control interface, and a joystick for controlling the aircraft in manual mode.
The desk station was designed in house and features discreet lighting for the operator's documentation and
notes and dual locations for the joystick, for both right and left handed operators.
