		< Return to previous page the software SEPT-R (Synthetic Environment Procedural Trainer - Rotary) Due to the success of the RAF SEPT simulator installed at DCAE RAF Cosford ('07) over the last two years its usage has doubled, this is primarily because the system has been made available to the army. Officers from the Arborfield Garrison soon realised the potential of the system and raised an S.O.R. so that the army trainee's would benefit from a new 'rotary' specific version.	.
		The original SEPT software featured unique marshalling procedures within a dispersal aerodrome environment, this was not ideal for training army marshalling techniques as they would normally be carried out in the field. Some of the original dispersal scenarios remain in the new software, Merlin see off /see in & Puma see off / see in. The new scenario's built specifically for this rotary version all have manual controls of the featured aircraft. As with the original software the instructor is able to control the whole simulation from the main desk- station, they can also alternate marshal positions, introduce hazards, change the time of day / weather etc....

Retain all original SEPT Merlin & Puma aircraft dispersal scenarios
Additional aircraft to be added - Apache AH-64 Longbow
Replace all RAF marshals with ARMY marshals - no hi-vis jackets to be warn
Create new field environment with tree lined perimeter, hedges and farm track
Create farmyard with hard-standing area and derelict farm buildings
Requirement for Bowser refuelling point
Under-slung load 'hook up' area
Ability to marshal aircraft close into tree lined areas
Create maintenance area featuring parked vehicles and tents masked by tree cover
Create LZ with lighting (landing zone)
Create command post area
Create load, arming and unload site
