Prologis - Site Development at Newbury - Greenham Common Airfield - September '05.
Maelstrom has recently completed the second of its VR walk-through applications for global distribution site developers Prologis.

Similar to the first VR application done for the Prologis Park Kettering Site, this program is to be used at several key stages of the site's development. Typically the software will initially be used as a visualisation tool to aid in the planning and development meetings. To the North of the site are some small villages concerned about the visibility of the large industrial sheds, but as the software illustrates these are hidden from view by the 12m bund and planting schemes that are planned for the site.

This application features all the same features as the Kettering site software, the ability to walk/fly anywhere in the 5km sq. environment, a menu system which allows the user to choose to turn on/off internal racking, the ability to see the site before, during and after construction,  to be able to access individual building data (size, no. of dock levels, office space etc), and to be able to follow pre-determined paths whilst still having the freedom to stop anywhere and look around.

This application currently features two sheds, new site access roads, local landmarks and housing, existing road
access to and from the site and satellite imagery and accurate (digital terrain mapping) 3D landscaping to the
local site and immediate surrounding (3km sq.) area. The site is currently being re-developed and could possibly
include further sheds should planning approval be awarded.
