Prologis - Prologis Park Site Development at Kettering - June 05.
Maelstrom has recently completed the first of its VR walk-through applications for global distribution site developers Prologis. Having seen Maelstrom's recent work for Coventry Arena they immediately understood the potential of how this technology could enhance not only their image but also how they promote their new sites.

Prologis are using the software at several key stages of their developments, from the initial planning approval through to virtual tours of sites before construction commences to aid in pre-selling of the leases. Software features include; the ability to walk/fly anywhere in the 5km sq. environment, a menu system which allows the user to choose to turn on/off internal racking, the ability to see the site before, during and after construction,  to be able to access individual building data (size, no. of dock levels, office space etc), and to be able to follow pre-determined paths whilst still having the freedom to stop anywhere and look around.

This application features seven sheds of varying specifications the largest one being a colossal 700,000sq. ft, three 3-storey office structures, a huge landscaped linear park and balancing pond development, new site access roads, local landmarks and community buildings, existing road access to and from the site and satellite imagery and accurate (digital terrain mapping) 3D landscaping to the local site and immediate surrounding (3km sq.) area.

Throughout the development Maelstrom worked closely with not only the UK Communications Manager Nick Brown,
but also Vice President of Development Simon Jenkins who oversaw every detail of the VR development to ensure
complete accuracy as this was to be the first site to be launched in this unique way.

Prologis  - now had their product packaged and delivered in a totally new and unique way, but once again
employed Maelstrom help them to deliver the ultimate site launch experience - VR Skydiving onto the Kettering
site. This concept was to employ four of the latest state-of-the-art tracking systems and give the four players
the experience of a lifetime, freefalling from 3500m and landing on the new site development. The players also
had to navigate around the largest spec building visiting key areas before being able to complete the game by
racing back to the landing area. More details on the VR Skydiving pages.
