Unit Design & Construction
Sometimes it is necessary for us to design and build a 'VR Unit' because - as with the football games, the application needs it. The designs are produced in-house by us and are built by a local product design company who have worked with us successfully for 7 years. Each unit is designed to suit the requirement of the application and each client has their own priorities, for example Budweiser (for their 2002 World Cup Tour) wanted their unit to have fantastic presence and it had to surround the player giving them an arena to perform in.

Carlsberg's first unit was designed to have a similar feel to the Budweiser one but they wanted it to be smaller and faster to assemble. Their second design launched in January 2004 had further requirements, the new unit had to transported in a standard car and needed to be assembled by one person in less than 10 minutes - this was achieved and the unit is successfully touring ASDA stores throughout the UK.

Tennents - (Ireland) console based system is also easily transported and has a fast assembly time of (approx 5 mins) and as with all the units houses the PC system and associated technologies inside. Tennents ordered three units which were built and shipped to Belfast within six weeks of commencing the project - the units are now on tour used in pubs and clubs throughout Ireland.

Virtual Games - (Portugal) A four player Virtual Table Football Unit - the unit was based in the original game using the rod and spring technology. The game has four individual screens each giving its own viewpoint of the game. There is no need to dismantle this unit as it has its own built in trolley system comprising of a hydraulic heavy duty jack which lifts the whole unit off the floor by 12 inches revealing the wheels and enabling it to be moved with ease. This Table Football system is one of many virtual prototype units hired out by Virtual Games to their corporate clients throughout Portugal for special events.

Budweiser - (UK & Scotland) True Footwork is our latest release and is a step mat driven penalty shootout game.

The units will be touring clubs and bars throughout the UK and Scotland during 2005. The step sensors are used
as the main control mechanism for the virtual player seen on screen. By running on the two blue sensors for a
period of 5 seconds this generates the shots power, then each player selects one of the 5 forward 'shoot sensors'
in order to strike the ball - the shoot sensors are positioned around the player in an arc, so that the player can
choose a direction in which to strike the ball.

Prologis - 4 Player VR Skydiving & Orienteering Game. This unique system incorporates four of Ascension's
PCI Bird tracking systems, 5 accelerated pc systems, four consumer headsets, four parachute harnesses, and four
26" LCD TFT screens for on-lookers to see each players view. The software is explained in more detail in the
marketing section of this website. (Click on each picture below to see the units in more detail).

The NatWest Cricket unit was designed as a two piece unit, a floor - housing the Tracking Transmitter, and a
base unit - housing the PC system and internal hardware. We also produced a VR helmet version of the Official
ECB Players helmet which housed a Sony Glasstron and earphones inside (pictures in headset section).
